Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in France's Puy-de-Domme on 8 August 1976. She was youngest of four children. Audrey's parents who was both dentists and a teacher, recognized and encouraged their daughter's love for theater and drama at the age of a stage novice. The support they provided was more than enough to combat her desire to become primatologist. As a young woman the rise to fame was rapid and marked with the beginning of her recognition and success. Prior to beginning the acting profession, Tautou took part in Jeunes Premiers which was a French talent search TV program which was a part of Canal+ in 1998. The program also awarded her the title of Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou was a member of the church as well as the Institut Catholique de Paris during her childhood, but she has since gotten rid of her childhood. She pursued a career in modeling along with her acting career. She is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Also, she has an intense passion for photography. She recently presented an exhibit of her work during the Arles Festival under the title Superficial. Photography of her is primarily focused on celebrity and fame, and focuses the camera on the journalists who scrutinised her after her meteoric rise to stardom with Amelie and several self-portraits. Audrey Tautou's international popularity and success exploded following her appearance in the film as Amelie Poulain's lead actress in the film Le Fabuleux Destin in the film d'Amelie. Amelie was a box-office international film that received acclaim at award ceremonies around the globe. Amelie is the top grossing French language movie in the US. After this film's success, Tautou appeared in many movies ranging from British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche of fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood with Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code together with Tom Hanks.
