Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) is an American performer, actor and dancer. One of her first Broadway productions included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. in You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with directors, actors, and other performers on stage and screen for the entirety of her professional career. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford is currently working on the film for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. It's also available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This production will be directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that created Hamilton. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal actors into the very first impeachment trial in the United States in over a century. Two seasons ago, Ashford played a prominent role in CBS's hit comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role as Essie. Other Broadway roles includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a Denver native who now divides his time between Los Angeles.
